Planting Design in Oxfordshire

If your garden feels flat, bare or hard to love for most of the year, a new planting plan can make a big difference. We design planting that suits your soil and light, feels good to live with and gives more colour, texture and wildlife through the seasons.

Planting That Brings Your Garden to Life

Sometimes the main shapes in a garden are fine, but the borders are tired, overgrown or simply not doing much. You might have a new build with a few token shrubs, or an older garden where plants have slowly taken over.

Our planting design service is for when you want the garden to feel softer, more welcoming and easier to look after, without starting again from scratch.

Planting design can be a good fit if you:

  • Like your patio, paths or main layout but want the borders to feel more organised
  • Want more colour and interest without creating a high-maintenance garden
  • Would like to support bees, butterflies and birds, but still keep things neat
  • Need planting that copes with drier summers, wetter winters or heavy clay
  • Prefer someone else to choose plants that will actually suit your garden

How Our Planting Design Service Works

We keep the process simple and steady so you can see how your garden will change before any plants go in.

1. Visit and planting brief

We visit you at home, walk the garden and talk about what you like, what you don’t and how much time you realistically want to spend on care. We look at soil, light, existing planting and any problem areas, then agree a simple brief for your new borders or whole garden.

Planting plan and options

2. Planting plan and options

From that visit we put together a planting plan that shows what goes where, along with a plant list and notes on colour, height and seasonal interest. We then talk it through with you and offer two options: Design only – you use the plan and list to buy and plant yourself or Design, supply and plant – we prepare the beds, improve the soil and plant everything for you

3. Planting and early care

If we are doing the planting, our team will prepare the ground, set out the plants and plant them properly with the right spacing. Before we leave, we give you clear, simple guidance on watering and early care. If you would like help keeping on top of things, our Care and Development team can then take over regular visits.

Wow what can I say, we took on Green Art to look after our garden last autumn and we are so happy with our decision. The team they have given us..Adam and Toby are absolutely fantastic. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, super professional and easy to get on with. We’ve got a great collaboration whereby we discuss priorities, problem solving, planting schemes and ideas and they always go above and beyond to deliver a first class service.

From my very first phone conversation with Jo I knew I had made an excellent choice in GreenArt Garden Design and Landscaping. Shortly after the initial contact with Jo I met with her husband George to discuss what would work for me in terms of design, use, costs and so forth. Within a few days I had a plan which was way beyond expectations and really fabulous providing adventures for grandchildren, something lovely to look at and also relatively easy to maintain
