Helping you and your garden thrive

Not everyone feels confident in their garden, and that’s more common than you might think. The RHS found that while around 34 million people garden in the UK, only 27% feel confident doing it. You might love the idea of gardening but are not sure where to start, or you may have a space that never quite looks how you hoped.

Our one-to-one gardening support is for people who want to enjoy their garden more, with a horticultural specialist working beside you, rather than being left to figure it out alone. Whether you need clarity on what your garden could be, or the skills and confidence to care for it yourself, we’ll help you get there

These are some of the common things clients often say to us:

  • “I'd love to know how to care for my garden, but I am unsure where to start or when to do what.”
  • “I keep meaning to improve my borders but need help knowing what plants will work here.”
  • “I would love to bring more wildlife into the garden but do not know how.”
  • “I would love to grow food and reduce my environmental footprint but need advice to make it work.”

What we can work on together

Sessions are shaped around what you actually want to learn. Here are some of the things clients most often ask for help with.

Pruning with confidence

Pruning with confidence

Roses, fruit trees, shrubs and hedges — knowing what to cut, when to cut it, and how much to take off without panic.

Planting and borders

Planting and borders

Understanding the approach to 'right plant, right place.' What plants work where, how to improve your soil, and how to make a border look full and considered rather than patchy.

Wildlife-friendly gardening

Wildlife-friendly gardening

Simple, practical advice and steps to attract more birds, bees and beneficial insects — from planting choices to compost management and water features.

Seasonal know-how

Seasonal know-how

What to do and when through the year — so you’re always working with the garden’s natural rhythm rather than against it.

Growing food

Growing food

Veg beds, fruit trees and herb gardens. Where to start, what to grow for your conditions and how to make it manageable alongside everything else.

re-wilding your garden

Climate-resilient gardens

Advice on plants and approaches that cope better with the swings from drought to downpours and unpredictable seasons, helping you future-proof your garden as the climate changes.

2. On site session in your garden

Our specialist horticulturist visits you at home and walks the garden with you. Together you look at borders, beds, pots and any problem areas, then agree the priorities for that session. We garden side by side, showing you each task step by step so you can watch first, then try it yourself with support if you would like to.

3. Clear notes and next steps

Within 48 hours, you’ll receive a short, plain-language note covering what we did together, the key techniques to remember, and a handful of jobs to focus on over the coming weeks. The aim is for you to feel that you can open your notes, step into the garden and know exactly where to start.

4. Ongoing support if you want it

Some people are happy with a one off confidence boost, others prefer regular sessions so they can build their skills gradually. We can arrange follow up visits at key points in the year, for example spring pruning, summer border care or autumn planting. The pace and frequency are shaped around your time, energy and budget, so the support always feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

Wow what can I say, we took on Green Art to look after our garden last autumn and we are so happy with our decision. The team they have given us..Adam and Toby are absolutely fantastic. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, super professional and easy to get on with. We’ve got a great collaboration whereby we discuss priorities, problem solving, planting schemes and ideas and they always go above and beyond to deliver a first class service.

From my very first phone conversation with Jo I knew I had made an excellent choice in GreenArt Garden Design and Landscaping. Shortly after the initial contact with Jo I met with her husband George to discuss what would work for me in terms of design, use, costs and so forth. Within a few days I had a plan which was way beyond expectations and really fabulous providing adventures for grandchildren, something lovely to look at and also relatively easy to maintain
