Garden design
Hand-drawn plans that show how paths, seating, planting and levels will work together in your garden.
If your garden no longer fits how you live, we can redesign and rebuild it so it feels organised, welcoming and easier to look after. Our in-house team looks after everything from the first sketch to the last plant in the ground.
Many people come to us because their garden just is not working anymore. You might have moved house and been left with a bare lawn, or lived there for years and now find the steps, slopes or borders harder to manage than they used to be.
Our design and build service is for when you want a properly thought through garden, planned around how you live, and built by one team who look after the whole project for you.
Most people come to GreenArt either to create a new garden or to look after one they already have. We can help with both.
Hand-drawn plans that show how paths, seating, planting and levels will work together in your garden.
Planting schemes chosen for your soil, light and style, with interest through the seasons and support for wildlife.
Experienced teams to build the garden: terraces, paths, walls, steps, seating areas and more, all carefully managed.
Ponds, rills and water features that feel part of the garden, from calm reflective pools to wildlife-friendly streams.
We keep things straightforward and well explained, so you always know what is happening next.
We usually start by visiting you at home to see the garden and talk through what is not working and what you would like instead. We look at levels, access, soil and views, and have an honest chat about what is realistic for your space and budget. If it helps, we can also arrange a follow-up meeting at the GreenArt showroom in Wallingford to look at materials and ideas together. There is no charge for this first visit.
From that visit we put together hand-drawn plans that show how paths, seating, planting and features could work together. We then talk the drawings through with you, make any changes and give you outline costs so you can decide how far you want to go.

When the garden is finished, we walk it with you, explain the key features and give simple guidance on watering and early care. If you would like ongoing help, our Care and Development team can take on regular visits so the garden stays looking its best.
A couple of recent projects for clients who wanted their gardens to work better for everyday life.
A naturalistic wildlife pond with a tumbling Yorkstone waterfall surrounded by a bank of wildflowers creates the focal point for this design…
Crumbling walls and a difficult grassy slope were replaced with a series of safe and accessible terraces linked by steps and enhanced…
When we redesign a garden, we are not just thinking about where to put a patio. We look at how the space can support wildlife, cope better with heavier rain and hotter summers, and still feel calm and easy to live with for you.
Many of our clients like the idea that their garden is doing some good beyond the fence, but do not want anything wild or messy. So we build these things in quietly, through the planting, layout and materials we choose.
